Baby Bottle Boomerang

Sundays | May 9th – June 20th

Both our Children’s Ministry and the Learning Ladders Preschool are filling up baby bottles with coins. The money will be donated to First Coast Women’s Services.
FCWS provides free pregnancy tests, sonograms, and counseling to women in need. They also provide items such as diapers, maternity and baby clothes, and baby equipment. You can help support our children by dropping your spare change in a baby bottle on the Missions Table.

 

 

 


Vacation Bible School

June 14th – June 18th | 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM

Rocky Railway VBS is June 14th-18th, 9:00 am-12:00 pm. We are very excited to have Vacation Bible School this summer. We have made a lot of changes with safety in mind. Some of the changes are:
  • A majority of activities will be outside, including drop off and pick up,
  • Masks are required and temperatures will be checked upon arrival
  • Current kindergarten to 6th graders are participants
  • 7th graders to adults are volunteers
  • 5th and 6th graders will participate in special VBS activities together.

Upward Basketball & Cheer Camp

June 14th – June 18th | 12:30 PM – 5:30 PM

Basketball camp is for current 2nd-5th graders. Participants will have the opportunity to develop their shooting, dribbling, passing, and defensive skills through a variety of drills and activities. Participants are assigned to a team and will move through the day’s activities with that team. Each day will feature a scrimmage between the various teams. Friday includes final games and skill competitions that are open to the parents.
Cheer Camp is for current 1st through 5th graders. Participants will learn cheers and dances and will do crafts as well as other fun activities.
Basketball and Cheer camp will be immediately after Vacation Bible School. Registration fee includes a camp shirt.
Volunteers (current 6th graders and up) are needed for basketball and cheer camp.

COmmunity-Wide Informational Meeting

June 16th | 6:30 PM

On Wednesday,  June 16th at 6:30 pm in the Sanctuary at Mandarin UMC, Rev. Alex Shanks, Assistant to the Bishop, will present about the future of the United Methodist Church.  He will explain legislation that will be coming to the next General Conference and answer any questions you have. If you have questions or comments, please come and join us that evening.

 

 


Neighborhood VBS

June 23rd, June 30th, & July 14th | 9:00 AM-11:00 AM

Children and Youth Ministry are taking VBS into the community this summer to spread the love and joy of learning about God’s unconditional Love. We are looking at several neighborhoods in Duval and St. Johns Counties. We would greatly appreciate your help. We will be in 2-4 different neighborhoods on Wednesday, June 23rd, June 30th, and July 14th 9:00 am – 11:00 am. Donation of snacks and volunteers is the best way to help.
  • If you would like to donate, we need individually packaged Goldfish, Pretzels or Cheez-its. You can drop them off at Longleaf or Mandarin Campus during Sunday service time. You can also drop them off at the Mandarin campus office, Mon-Thurs, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm .

Warren Willis

July 5th – 10th

Mandarin UMC & Longleaf Church will be taking children and youth (going into 4th grade to just graduated high school) to Warren Willis Summer Camp in Fruitland Park, FL July 5th-10th.
If your student is going, you must FIRST register them at wwumccc.org and pay a deposit and SECOND, register them with us. Yams (youth) can be used for the balance. Find more information about traveling to camp by clicking here and read the safety standards here.
