United Women in Faith

Who We Are

Vision

Turning faith, hope, and love into action on behalf of women, children, and youth around the world.

Purpose

United Women in Faith shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the Church.

50+ Years and Moving Forward in Mission

UWF proudly celebrated their 60th anniversary in 2024, but they are not resting on those laurels. They are an active group of more than 175 women of all ages who are finding new and exciting ways to be connected with local and global missions. UWF currently has four daytime and three evening circles where they fellowship, study how they can serve in God’s world, and engage in many local mission projects; getting their hands dirty in the messy business of being the hands and feet of Jesus.

Education and Spiritual Growth

UWF hosts quarterly meetings at the church to promote awareness of ways to become involved in our community. These meetings are open to all women of the church. They are a great time to learn what UWF is all about and where you might want to join in for fellowship and Christian growth.

Mission and Outreach

UWF hosts an annual Fall Craft Festival the first Saturday in October that draws in many from the Mandarin community. This fundraiser makes most of the money we then give to missions. Last year, we gave $13,000 to 14 different missions.

Some of the missions we are able to support include the Bereavement Fund, City Rescue Mission, Cornerstone Family Ministries, Crown Point Elementary School, DLC Nurse and Learn, Dress a Girl (DAG), First Coast Women’s Services, Hubbard House, Inspire to Rise, John Hall Charities of Clay County, K-9’s for Warriors, Mandarin Food Bank, Pace Center for Girls, Personal Energy Transportation (PET), Residing Hope (Fl. Chitdren’s Home), Rethreaded, Seminary Student, Wesley House Family Services, and Wounded Warriors.

United Women in Faith is a Connectional Body

Just as our church is connected to the UMC global ministries, UWF members have many opportunities for additional spiritual growth and fellowship by participating in Northeast Florida District UMW Mission Studies and retreats and Conference and Regional events.
